Federal Franchise Act
федеральный закон о праве участия в голосовании (согласно этому закону, принятому через год после создания федерации, т. е. в 1902, Австралия стала первой страной в мире, где женщины, за исключением аборигенок нескольких штатов, получили право участия в выборах и возможность быть избранными в федеральный парламент {Federal Parliament}. Первыми женщинами, избранными в парламент, стали в 1943 госпожа Энид Лайонз {Dame Enid Lyons} и сенатор Дороти Тангни {Senator Dorothy Tangney})
